It has often been said that great things come in small packages. For numerous people throughout the world that principle is demonstrated in the enormous impact a small box-like piece of technology has made on their lives. Of course, the radio itself has no transforming power, but the wonderful news it speaks about Jesus Christ radically changes the lives of listeners and determines their eternal destiny. "One Small Box" is a music video illustrating how something big can come through something small.
Our 'Radios for India' project has been extremely effective in bringing people into relatioinship with Jesus Christ. This video tells the story of how one radio was used to establish three congregations in the village of Sijua.
View video footage taken during a Seekers' Conference in India. These conferences are part of our discipleship program in India. Peopple who have responded to our heart language radio broadcasts are invited to gather for teaching and debate sessions where they can learn more about Jesus Christ and get answers to their questions about Christianity. A very high percentage of those who attend these conferences end up acepting Jesus as their Savior and becoming Christ followers.
The secret of a purpose filled life is living to help others. Helping others give us significance. If our lives are not defined by a desire to help others we will end up with just getting dirty and have a pile of mud or other dirt, like the elementary students.
We are living a fast paced material world where it is so easy to lose our perspective.
Money is such a driving force that often leaves us in chaos and discontent in attempting to get what others are getting or have the newest or latest items.
As Christians we have to answer questions like, "do I really need that?" "How much is enough?" What should I do with my money? Can I be comfortable living in abundanceand still be spiritual? Should I give all I have to the poor and destitute? Should I give anything at all?
When Jesus Christ came into the world, He came as the greatest gift ever given to man. But in addition to His great gift of love, forgiveness and salvation, He brought to us the gifts of unlimited resources, unlimited strength and unlimited access to God the Father.
God is always there for us. He has a vested interest and investment in us.
Through Christ we have been given “The Gift of Abundance.”
Paul’s petition is for all people, not just the believers in Colossae 100’s of years ago.
Paul is convinced that Jesus Christ is the true and only way to salvation. He is the only way to true fulfillment, joy and thankfulness. When the heart is full, it will overflow in thanksgiving.
Christian unity is not found in uniformity, organization, (programs) or a particular church, but rather in Jesus and our commitments to His teachings, and living them out in our lives … it is only as we join together with others who look different than we do but share a common love and commitment to the Truth that is Jesus, that we can know the completeness of the body of Christ.” – Bob Snyder (WRp.353)
To build unity there must be a foundation on which we can build. Scripture is very clear as to what our foundation must be as followers of Christ. The ground is level at the cross.
God offers His encouraging truth and promises, but we must decide to believe and receive it. Our key to encouragement is in believing and then receiving His truth.
We all have a need for love, acceptance and encouragement, but many if not most people go through life with feelings of fear and rejection, hiding behind masks or walls to protect themselves from pain. The masks we put on to protect us actually isolate us from the real love we need.
I/We cannot over emphasize the importance of encouraging others.
“.. we are daily surrounded by lonely, aching and sometimes broken hearts.” J. Oswald Sanders
You know, we all say and do things that end up in a mess. How we react to each other in those times can determine whether we build up and encourage or tare down and destroy.
God wants us to be real, free, encouraged and unafraid. God knows us and still loves us. He is our true Friend, Redeemer, Confidence and Courage. He knows my weaknesses, failure and fears, but He still loves me!
You know, we all say and do things that end up in a mess. How we react to each other in those times can determine whether we build up and encourage or tare down and destroy
What do you believe? What do you hold on to when everything falls apart? What drive you? What is your passon? What gives you energy when you do it? One way to know you are in God's will is that you sense God's power, joy and fulfillment when you're there.
Even when we believe we are in God's will there are times when we have questions. There are times when things don't go as we would have hoped. The most important thing is to know what is the center, priority or foundation of your life.
When David Livingston was asked if he didn't fear that going to Africa was too difficult or dangerous, he answered, "I am immortal until the will of God for me is accomplished."
Do you know that the direction God has for you was determined before you were born? That does not mean that you automatically know and do God's will. It means that you can seek and find God's will and direction for your life. He wants to make it known to you. The question is do you want God's will for your life and are you willing to humbly seek Him till He reveals His will to you.
God's children need to walk in the power and victory of the Holy Spirit. The power of God is available to all who are willing to walk in obedience with Him.
As God's children, we need to be involved in spiritual warfare. We need to depend on God's power to overcome the enemy. Every believer is either a conquerer or a captive.
The perfect power from God is freely given as a glorious inheritance to those who believe. It is a great power that cannot be earned, but one shows the wonderful mercy of God. God's power is above all.
This part of the message on prayer emphasizes the power of prayer in a time of great need. The scripture for today tells a story of a man who genuinely seeks God when he is in the middle of a big problem.
This message is a challenge for us to grow in our prayer life. There are numerous reasons for why we pray and in this message, the importance of prayer is revealed through various scripture passages.
Paul demonstrates perseverance, obedience, and commitment to Jesus Christ. His purpose on earth was to proclaim Christ to all so they could come to know Him. In this message, learn more about Paul's perspective and purpose.
Have you ever stopped to consider that God is using your circumstances to develop you into what He has ahead of you? Moses had powerful and intimate interactions with the Lord that shaped and enabled him to be God's man for the moment. Through prayer Moses gained the strength, courage, wisdom, and humility he needed to serve God effectively.
Moses was a man of great hunility that came from a deep relationship with God. It took 80 years before Moses was ready to be the leader God needed. Through Moses we learn how to respond to the phases God takes us through in life as He prepares us to be productive citizens of His kingdom
There are times when Abraham had great faith, and times when he stumbled. Our faith grows through the struggles of life and it is not only important, but critical that we seek God for His grace and guidance. Abraham didn't have the Bible to guide him, so he relied on God through prayer.
Travel can be tough today, but imagine what it might have been like to take a long distance trip four thousand years ago! Abraham acted with incredible faith when he obeyed God's call to pack up his household and move to a land he had never seen before. Today we are going to take a walk with Abraham to see what we can learn from his life of prayer and faith in God.
If Christ had not risen from the grave He would still be among the dead and we would have no hope. In the cross of Christ we find forgiveness, but in the resurrection we find the hope of eternal life. Christ's resurrection give meaning to the cross and provides the assurance that the work is finished and God is satisfied.
We are all born in sin and in desperate need of a savior. God knew our need and prepared a way for us to be saved. There was only one way to by freedom for sinful mankind; it would take the blood of a sinless man.
Attending church services doesn't make you part of the Church any more than watching a football game makes you a football player. To really be part of the Church, you must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior.
The New Testament church was never a building or meeting place. Instead, the church was and is the corporate gathering of believers. Wherever believers are together, there is the church. This message focuses on the true nature of the church; what it is. what it has to offer, and the hope we can have with the church.
Every one leaves behind a virtual odor; an impression set by our attitudes, actions, and spiritual beliefs. It is far deeper than your outward appearance. The fragrance you carry is your choice. You cannot choose what happens to you, but you can choose how you react to events in your life and how you relate to the people you come into contact with.
The Church has been walking along limping for far too long. What is supposed to be a triumphal procession has become a mundane limp of tedious programming, propping up ministries in an attempt to get people to come to church. Jesus tells us that we are to go to the people. we are to have an infectious faith that impacts those around us with the likeness and love of Jesus Christ.
Prayer As A Second Language - Supplication (Part 2)
02.10.08
No matter how much we pray we cannot force or manipulate God's hand, but the advancement of God's kingdom hinges on our prayers. When we patiently wait for God's direction with a desire to see Christ exalted, our prayers will conform to God's will and His Kingdom will be advanced.
Prayer As A Second Language - Supplication (Part 1)
02.03.08
C. H. Spugeon once said, "The best kind of prayer is that which cannot be called anything else but a cry." As the disciples spent time with Jesus, they realized ther was something in His prayer life that they didn't have. Jesus taught them to pray with a selfless heart that humbly seeks God's will.
One thing we must be sure to do is to sincerely acknowledge all that God does for us. When we fail to thank God for all His blessings we put ourselves in an awkward position before a just God. Taking time every day to gratefully thank God for His provisions in your life will change your whole attitude and give you a new perspective.
The truth is that we all have a list of sin before God. The question is; what are you going to do with it? Praise God for the provision He has made for us to be forgiven and to be brought into relationship with Him. God's desire is for us to learn to walk in His strength and power to overcome temptation and sin.
Sin that is not confessed or dealt with remains as an open door for the enemy to create a stronghold in your life. For the power of the enemy to be broken and defeated, repentance and confession must take place. Through the provisions of the cross we are redeemed, restored, and enabled to establish the authority and Kingdom of God in our lives.
Have you ever wondered why we are called to praise and worship God? When we praise and worship God we become more aware of Him; who He is and what He has done. We begin to see who we are and the depth of our spiritual need. In essence, adoration, praise, and worship help us understand who God is and who we are.
Time is passing for every one of us and not one of us knows when it will run out! We have no idea how long we will live. We are given time as a gift, and the only control we have over it is how we will spend the time we are given. Every day is a gift from God. We must decide to spend our time wisely, for once our days are spent they can never be retrieved.
Christmas is such an interesting time! We buy things we don't need, with money we don't have, to impress people we don't really like. Doesn't it seem odd that some overweight man dressed in red is obscuring our view of the manger scene where Christ was born. Christmas is about Christ's birth as an expression of God's great love.
The world is filled with violence, crime, and fear. We are constantly dealing with problems tied to relationships, finances, health, and our life situations. No wonder more than sixty percent of all visits to physiciancs are for stress related disorders. Don't despair; God has made available an incredible array of resources for dealing with stress, and through Jesus Christ extends the promise of peace to those who believe.
We live in a dark and desperate world. Terrorism, violence, alcohol, drugs, immoral sexual behavior, diseases, finances, devastated families, and broken marriages are leaving people broken, hurting, and longing for hope. This message answers the question; Is there still hope for us?
Have you ever stopped to think and remember what Jesus does for us? Without Him we would be nothing, we could do nothing, we would have hope of nothing. Because of what Jesus does for us we can have great hope. Jesus has been empowered and authorized by the Father to carry out God's purpose for everyone who will seek Him.
God desires that we enter into an intimate relationship that moves beyond surface level superficiality in our Christian walk. Developing a deeper relationship with God will not happen automatically or by accident. We have to get real with God by investing time and energy in habits, or spiritual disciplines, that draw us closer to God.
